Thin Hex Nut ISO 10511
Product Description
Nylon insert locknuts are produced by forming and tapping nuts that include a tubular feature on top that receives a nylon ring. The tubular top is crimped to capture and hold the ring from spinning while the mating part self threads into the nylon during assembly. The nylon ring size and crimping process to secure the ring must be controlled to tight tolerances.
Applications
Thin Hex ISO 10511 locknuts are selected when the application demands a low profile and can accept the proof load of the thinner jam nut. As compared to All-Metal Locknuts, Nylon Insert Locknuts are less damaging to mating threads, but have lower heat limitations and over time the nylon develops memory and prevailing torque erodes.
