Center Lock Flange
Product Description
This common flange shaped locknut is a hex drive nut and washer combination. Center Lock Flange nuts are reliable, very versatile and low cost. The larger flange diameters are well suited for soft materials in the assembly. The small locking impression adds security to the application without distortion to the flange nut dimensions.
Applications
The flange makes the Center lock Flange locknut ideal when assembling components that consist of thin materials, slots or non-precision oversize holes. Mating part must only extend to flush with the flange nut top surface to assure locking element engagement. This low profile assembly attribute allows for shorter bolts on studs, reduces the opportunity for "snags" by things passing over the assembly and can provide clearance above the assembly for moving mechanisms. The flange will typically require more torque to produce a clamp load than non-flange nuts.
